Happy birthday to Nora!

Yesterday was a special day indeed, as it was our favorite rebel’s birthday!

Nora’s letter:

I used to love birthdays.

The attention, the candles, the feeling that, just for a moment, I mattered more than anything else.

But now, they just remind me of the people I’ve lost.

The versions of myself I left behind.

When I was younger, I used to dream big on this day. I’d light candles and make the same wish every year: “Let things stay the same.”

They never did.

I’ve spent a lot of time running from that summer, from the truth, from the parts of me that scare even myself. But this year feels… different. Maybe because I’m finally ready to face it. All of it.

The bloom. The rage.

The fire in the clearing.

Some memories never left me, no matter how hard I tried to forget.

I thought it would hurt less that way.

I’m not sure it does.
