Life is Strange 2 Episode 2 Launch Trailer Revealed

The Second Episode of the 5-Part Season Launches Thursday

We are excited to share the launch trailer for Life is Strange 2 Episode 2!

The second episode of Life is Strange 2 is titled ‘Rules’ and will release digitally worldwide this Thursday, January 24th, 2019, for Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC/Steam.

Watch the Life is Strange 2 Episode 2 Launch Trailer here:

Episode 2 picks up a few months after the events of the first episode, as Sean and Daniel are on the run from the police following the tragic incident in Seattle and the manifestation of a strange supernatural power. Things are getting tougher as the seasons have changed and the winter cold is setting in.

The power takes a central position in the story as Daniel is slowly coming to terms with his abilities. The brothers have to practice Daniel’s control over his powers so he can be less of a danger to himself and others, but at the same time, they also have to hide his abilities from a world that won’t understand.

They have come to an agreement on a set of rules for how Daniel uses his abilities in order to keep them hidden: Never in public. Never talk about it. Run from danger. However, can a 9-year old really follow the rules?

The much loved Captain Spirit returns in Episode 2 of Life is Strange 2. It’s recommended that players complete The Awesome Adventures of Captain Spirit™, as Episode 2 takes into account Captain Spirit save games. Actions taken in Captain Spirit will have repercussions in Episode 2. The Awesome Adventures of Captain Spirit is available 100% free on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC/Steam.

We’re excited to announce the release date for the second episode of the five-episode of Life is Strange™ 2.

Episode 2: ‘Rules’, will release on January 24th, 2019, on XBOX ONE, PlayStation 4 and Windows PC.

Gonzalo Martin, the voice of Sean Diaz, stars in a live-action visualisation of a pivotal moment on the brothers’ journey in Life is Strange 2.

See the live-action trailer and get a first glimpse of Life is Strange 2 Episode 2 here:

Sean and Daniel’s story continues in Episode 2. On the run from the police following a tragic incident in Seattle and the manifestation of a strange supernatural power, Sean and Daniel Diaz continue their journey into the winter months. As the two brothers struggle against the cold, Daniel gets increasingly ill. Sean decides that they must take the risk and make their way to their distant grandparent’s house to recover and seek shelter.

There, they encounter next-door neighbour Chris Eriksen, a young boy who believes he has powers eerily similar to Daniel’s, and they come face to face with his superhero alter ego, Captain Spirit.

As Daniel and Chris are becoming fast friends, it’s up to Sean to make sure Daniel follows a set of rules they agreed on for his power: Never in public. Never talk about it. Run from danger.

Can Daniel successfully hide the truth from the people around them, will the temptation to explore the immense power within him be too much, or will he break the rules in a time of need?

Developer Update – Life is Strange 2 Episode 2 Release Window

Hello everyone,

As you may know we have kept players updated on what we’re working on for Episode 2 with our developer update blogs here: https://sqex.link/DNEUpdates.

Thanks for tuning in each time and thank you very much for the support you’ve shown us in return. We hope to keep doing these developer updates as we continue to build Life is Strange 2.

Of course, there is a pertinent piece of information that everyone has been asking for since Episode 1 launched: When will Episode 2 be releasing?

The Life is Strange series is a project close to all of our hearts and one for which we do not want to rush development and thereby fail to meet the benchmark of quality and emotional impact that you, our players, deserve. This is why we so far have not announced an official release date – we want to ensure that we will be in a position to release something that we are proud of and that you will enjoy and remember forever.

We understand that there are certain expectations that episodes will be released at a similar cadence as previous Life is Strange games have. The ambition of Life is Strange 2, however, means that the previous frameworks no longer apply if we are to meet the quality of play and storytelling that our vision for a game like this demands and that you deserve.

With this in mind, we can now officially say that Episode 2 will be released in January 2019, but more will be unveiled in mid December, this year. We can’t wait to reveal more about ‘Episode 2: Rules’ to you soon! We’re truly very excited to show you what we’ve been working on and what’s in store for Sean and Daniel.

Thank you again for your ongoing support and patience and we will see you again soon!
