Here is a brand new trailer for the occasion:

E3 2016 – We’re going to tell you about our adventure!

Chronicles of our trip to Los Angeles for E3 2016, as told by the narrative director of Vampyr, Stéphane Beauverger!

We couldn’t resist the temptation to let Stéphane’s pen tell you about the amazing trip that the Vampyr team undertook to E3 to present the game to the media. Enjoy!

Slightly after the fact, some news about the adventures of the Vampyr team in California.

With the trade show going on around us, only a few meters away and yet inaccessible, day after day the Vampyr delegation made presentations and gave interviews to stunned audiences and dumbfounded journalists (no, really!)

After a day spent on this delicate exercise, it seems appropriate to share a few comments and discoveries:

– It is humanly impossible to talk louder than a pack of hysterical fans in front of a neighboring stand that is announcing an event that we will never know anything about (even though we had a mike and they didn’t)

– Entering the show with an “exhibitor” badge before the doors opened and jostling past simple visitors is rare source of satisfaction – and unfortunately the only one ahead of the marathon that awaited us 🙂

– When you buy a plane ticket without checking the month, you find yourself having to go back to France one month after the end of the show and after the rest of the team (isn’t that right, Laurent Cahour)

 – When you play a quick game of street-rules soccer at cocktail hour, it’s easy to end up with a broken toe (isn’t that right, Gregory Szucs?)

The project was very well received, the journalists had lots of questions, and several times there was even spontaneous applause.
Fans regularly and very nicely came by the stand to tell us how much they’d enjoyed playing Life Is Strange and Remember Me, and how they couldn’t wait to give Vampyr a go.

That afternoon, the site GamersPack presented Philippe and Maxime with the game’s official nomination for “Choice of the Pack – Roleplaying” for E3 2016.

Anecdotes and discoveries of the day:

– Just before an interview, a journalist exchanged a smile with his cameraman and very nicely said to me: “Cool, you’re wearing sunglasses and a leather jacket so you can look like a vampire in The Masquerade... Nice touch.”  “… Umm, no, I dress like this all the time…” 8)

– About that leather jacket… Reeeeaaalllllly bad idea to visit Los Angeles under a hot sun while on foot and wearing a leather jacket… I narrowly escaped very definitely vampiric spontaneous combustion while waiting for sunset.

– Nobody walks in LA anyway; there, the car, taxi, and Uber are kings. Only problem: when we asked for an Uber for 5 and the vehicle that turned up clearly didn’t have enough room for the whole team. Result: our Game Director had a memorable road trip with his knees right up to his chin in the hastily-arranged trunk. But that’s all part of the French Touch (isn’t that right, Philippe Moreau?)

And that’s all for this evening. Here in LA, it’s 10:33 pm and we’re tired. We’ll pick things up again tomorrow (last day!)

See you soon for more news!

Good night everybody.

Well, that’s it, it’s over: E3 2016 has finished to the charming sound of a blaring megaphone politely asking everyone to get the hell out (no kidding).

It was intense, tiring, long, and exciting.

Once again – and it’s always a real pleasure – fans dropped by to declare their love and admiration of our work. And when it comes down to it we have the right to think that it’s also (especially?) because of these genuine words and smiles that we work our butts off to make the best games possible.

We brought back 5 prizes awarded by the general public, players, and that makes us feel good too.

Well done and congratulations to all of the teams, to each and every one of you who made the first public presentation of Vampyr a success.
There’s still a lot of work ahead, but we received confirmation that we’re going in the right direction.

Lots of journalists were amazed, intrigued, curious… They want to find out more, so now they’ll be following us a lot more closely.

It’s now 10 pm here; tomorrow the flight and back to France (except Laurent Cahour, who couldn’t find any other way out except to stay and work on a farm until he can afford a return ticket… Mwahaha!)

8th Anniversary Party!

8 years have passed since DONTNOD ENTERTAINMENT was founded! So we had to celebrate! …with a special Vampyr dress code!
We’ve celebrated all night long… until the first ray of sunshine (of course it burns!)

We enjoyed some pizza (without garlic), bloody red wine and holy beer, as well as a few lost citizens for dessert 😉

We’re feeling very grateful for these amazing years! We have a wonderful community and such inspiring and supportive friends to work out with.
Thanks to everyone, we might achieve immortality…

We hope DONTNOD ENTERTAINMENT has many successful years to come!

Vampyr at E3 2016!

Vampyr, our new action-RPG, explores protagonist Jonathan Reid’s moral plight in the E3 trailer.
It introduces the nightmare your hero must live every day now he has become a real monster!

Vampyr comes out on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC in 2017.

DONTNOD team will be at E3 to present Vampyr to the press and the game will be highlighted at the PC Gaming Show streaming live at 11:30AM Pacific (2:30 PM ET, 7:30 PM BST) on Monday 13th June, on Twitch!

If you’re reading this text, it’s because you’re on the new DONTNOD site! We’ve given the logo a bit of a facelift, taken new photos of the premises and teams, and even written up the story of the company!

We hope you like it, but please excuse us if you come across any bugs… They’ll be dealt with in the days to come! Enjoy!

A portrayal of the hero’s dual nature! Can one be a monster and still save lives?

In our next action RPG, Vampyr, you play as Jonathan Reid, newly transformed into a vampire, a doctor torn between the Hippocratic Oath and his new condition. In 1918 London, wracked by the Spanish flu, your first reflex is to help and care for the inhabitants… but you cannot ignore your nature and thirst for violence for long – you have become first and foremost a predator. Killing the inhabitants will set off multiple chain reactions for both London and those who dwell there, and you will have to live with the consequences of your choices on your conscience.

Each life saved or taken will irreversibly affect both the characters around you and your adventure. When Vampyr is released in 2017 on PlayStation®4, Xbox One and PC, you will have to decide how many lives can be sacrificed to guarantee your survival.
